Watched (ie. fell asleep during) the first Twilight movie. The excessive drooling staring, angsting, sparkling, and photoshopped lighting reminded me of shoujo manga...the long, boring kind. While the main male and female couple aren't expected to have interesting personalities, the author could have at least given personalities to the side characters.

Anyway, speaking of sparklies...
Kimi ni Todoke 9! Kurumi slithers on in.

The new Zetsubou Sensei figures have a nice simplicity and good humor to them. Not quite an Xmas tree there.

Speaking of suicidal anime characters...
Aoi Bungaku 1-2! I meant to look into this show earlier, but fluff and action shows usually take precedent over shows that require brain usage.

+ Madhouse using their top staff (similar to their Mouryou no Hako production)
+ Interesting production notes
- possibly depressing

Quick impression~ This is a series of six different semi-horror, mystery(?) stories from classical japanese literature. An interesting part of the production is that Takeshi Obata (Death Note manga), Kubotite (Bleach manga) and Takeshi Konami (The Prince of Tennis manga) are a part of the original character design team; each doing different stories. Masato Sakai whom I recognize from various jdramas, voices the main character in many of the arcs. He has a very smarmy, creepy voice. The first story is 'No Longer Human' by Osamu Dazai. This story revolves around Yozo, a man whose good looks attract kindness from women, but there's a dark creature underneath which lead him to alcohol, drugs and attempted suicides.
