A couple firsts

Kami no Shizuka 1! jdrama. I was hoping for a comedy, but this is more a drama's drama. A wine critic dies leaving a contest for his two sons in order for one of them to inherit his wine collection. The older, snobby son and the younger, aloof son seem to harbor some resentment towards each other. The older one is a wine critic and is totally up to the challenge. The younger one doesn't really want much to do with wine, but a pushy girl gets him into it since she sees his talent. Kamenashi Kazuya plays Kanzaki Shizuku, and he looks rather tired...perhaps sleepy from alcohol/grape juice? Not quite the intense manga character from which this is based on. This could be educational like that Bartendar anime I watched, but eh, let's see if tomorrow's Love Shuffle jdrama keeps me awake longer.

Genji Monogatari Sennenki 1! based on one of the oldest novels in the world, and something that I reeeeallly attempted to read, but konked out every 5 pages.

+ Somewhat nice artsy production
- but not liking the character designs
+ Cute Puffy opening song and pretty ending song
- but bland visuals, ink splotches.

Quick summary~ Hikaru tries to seduce his 'mother', but she ain't having it.

Quick impression~ eh, not really what I want to watch. Spent most of the time wondering where I heard the narrator's voice before. She sounded like the narrator from Juuni Kokki.
