Orange October
Oct. 6th, 2007 12:45 pmCaught up on about half the shows I watch, but new, shiny sparklies are out...*slight spoilers ahead*

Gundam 00 1! it's a Gundam, arrrgh.
+ Shiny, clean animation with crisp colors.
+Slashable, fanservicey Lovely characters by Yun Kouga are ♥♥♥.
+ I'll take Laruku over techno any day. Daybreak's Bell PV (the ending by The Back Horn is also rock).
+ Unintentional humor...
+ Religion...
+ Classic mech action
Quick summary- The first episode opens up with kitty-faced Ritsuka, I mean Setsuna, fighting for his life while random mechs shoot up a town. Flashforward to present-time as the four Gundams simultaneously attack...some miliary gov't organization? (Reminded me of how Gundam Wing started off.) Anyway, the Gundam Meisters work for the Celestial Being, another organization who wants to end war...um, right. The episode got all the main characters in with plenty of action. While the episode wasn't OMGZ, I'll definitely watch more for the humor. Allelujah already kills me.

Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro 1! Madhouse must have some people who really like the group, Nightmare.
- Nightmare isn't my fav music.
+ Madhouse's animation is pretty consistent and even if this show doesn't get the highest production rating, it's colorful.
+ Koyasu Takehito is funny and adorable and so is his character.
+ Neuro has ornaments on the ends of his hair.
+ All the characters seem to have likable, cute personalities.
- The story seems episodic and somewhat cheesy.
Quick summary- Yako, a young girl with a huge appetite, and Neuro, a demon who eats mysteries/riddles, are detectives for hire. In the first episode, everyone's relationships are already established. Yako and Neuro and a couple police detectives are hired to solve a murder at a restaurant. The culprit is a jealous chef who makes some sort of 'doping soup' to pump himself up. Yako and Neuro solve the case. Neuro bites the culprit's head. The show is visually funny and if the story can continue the comedy or something more interesting, I will continue to watch. The manga can be found here and it looks like the anime will diverge from the manga.
And how many of us were annoyed when the long awaited chapter of HXH came out and did not feature Gon or Killua? At least the quality of the drawing has returned.
