Was watching Nodame Cantabile episode 4 again with subs to see if I misunderstood anything...haha, translation-by-facial-expression is sure accurate. Anyway, one of my favorite episodes thus far. The winking (like my wink-hindered sister) and the kotatsu moments killed me. The moment when Chiaki was conducting for the first time in public while fighting back a smile was really touching.

Then I had to go watch the TV Special. Nodame's actress, Juri Ueno, really does play the piano really well. Both Ueno and Chiaki's actor, Tamaki Hiroshi, have musical backgrounds, but to actually be able to pull off some those piano pieces is really great. It's hard to see if and when they have hand doubles. I was pretty impressed by everyone's training. Their efforts & talents appear close to natural in the show (a few fake moments with Eita and the violin..but hey, just a few). The making of the physical comedy was really cute. All the actors and actresses seem to be having fun making the drama.
