Le Chevalier D'Eon

Le Chevalier D'Eon 2! The series has officially? begun. Glad this was uploaded HQ because the action-shots really presented themselves well with the nice, crisp quality of the video. The opening song by Miwako Okuda isn't too thrilling, but some of the visuals are pretty unique. The youtube clip does the detail no justice. The setting and cgi parts are really pretty. Stylistically, the anime series reminds me of Witch Hunter Robin in terms of mood, character design, and production, but none of the key production team members are involved with both..so must be just a cursory observation that I'll throw out. Episode 2 picks up where 1 left as D'Eon is possessed by his sister and is able to fend off & 'slay' his friend-now-vampire/zombie. Again, the detail in the zombie-blood, the swoosh of hair, and positions & fluidity of the sword movements were pretty enviable. The episode moves pretty quickly as action is thrown in fairly often. The only weakness is that the supernatural parts of the story seem ill-placed right now (maybe because I have no knowledge of the historical facts the show is based on). The show would still be a great show without the vampires and body-possession. It has a wealth of historical figures from which to work. Ah~ if only he voluntarily acted like a girl like the man he was based on, says my inner fangirl. If the series can maintain this level of animation and develop the plot accordingly, this'll be a must-see series this fall.
Sis tells me that Inuyasha is finishing up. Reading those last chapters, my reaction was hey, why didn't Sesshomaru become King of Hell? 2 pages later he defeats the monster in hell and takes Rin back and then his mother revives her? Quite a quick, sappy resolution for Sesshomaru.
