NiNa was comprised of Yuki and Kate from the B52's. There was a post in jpopsuki which reminded my of how much I liked their collaboration. Their voices complimented each other. It's nice how strong Yuki's career keeps going. She has a cute voice and interesting persona. Not sure what Kate is up to.

Samples of this old group~ Aurora Tour and this'll date me, Happy Tomorrow, which was used in Arc the Lad...a pretty decent anime back then.

Something new~
Penicillin Nano's unborn child's dream album is still up in the air. At the first listen, it was pretty bad. Other than the first track, the digital effects sound dated as if you were listening to their first album where the techno sounds were cheap, all blurred, and eventually just sounded loud. Hakuei's other vocal & guitar collaboration, machine, had more progressive sounds. Nano's songs themselves aren't as beautiful or catchy as those on Penicillin's Flower Circus album and tend towards their recent Hellbound Heart album which was a miss for me (probably too much metal). Track one, the title track, was the strongest track as it mixed a simple digital melody with the guitar and vocals. The remixes of Mr. Freeze and Romance were eh, not too great. They simply filled the missing bass and drum parts with the cheap digital sounds. Anyway, it was possibly an interesting experiment for Hakuei and Chisato, but the whole album could have benefited from the whole Penicillin team *smoosh*. Thankfully, the original group has a new single out 9/27.
