bunch o' manga part two
Jun. 8th, 2006 06:50 pm...decided to support the foreign economy this time. (something new, something old, used...*smells like weed*)
Got in Yun Kouga's new
Tornado 02 doujinshi artbook. It's a slim book filled with her sketches of Loveless and a few other original characters. It's nice to see that she literally paints on those skintight pants. In other news, her website has been revamped. It's better than the previous, but there seems to be some missing info. I don't like it when mangakas get popular and then take away their artwork on their website. Yun Kouga used to have a doodle gallery like CLAMP used to...ah, no longer. Back to the artbook, it's a little skimpier than what the cost indicated, but the next two were only $2.50...kinda offsets it in my head. There are some really nice prelim sketches in it. Mostly Ritsuka and some Zeroes. (The scanned cover is here) ++
Also went for Yamimaru Enjin's Voice or Noise Volume 1 & 2 (from 2003-2005). This is/was being scanlated by Hochuuami/Loveless (y'know...the speedy ppl..2 chapters are at hochuuami.com). The manga is a soft yaoi version of Dr. Dolittle. I tend to enjoy soft yaoi since there is usually a plot (however dorky it may be) and there at least 2 hot guys..and very few if any, females. Voice and Noise about a young boy who has a sick dog. Through the advice of his vet, he goes to a cranky college professor who is known to talk to animals. The boy may turn out to have the same talent. Angst, humor and cuddly moments follow. (here and here are a couple scans....hmm, s'not nice how photobucket resized the color pix...time for a new free host.)++
