"CHINA'S runaway summer hit, "Super Girl," ended last weekend with a television viewership that eclipsed the population of North America. State news media reported that more than 400 million people watched the finale of the show, an "American Idol" knockoff, and saw a frizzy-haired music student (potential lesbian) from Sichuan Province selected as the winner."--nytimes

i'd like to see that show. "The Mongolian Cow Sour Yogurt Super Girl Contest"...ha ha ha. that sounds so awesome. i'd rather see the chinese, australian, or original british version of american idol. the american one was boring after the first season. even the really bad tryouts during the first few shows get kinda fake after awhile. plus, the show is reaaally bland when it gets to the best karaoke performance part of the show. i'd rather see a foreign music performance every so often.

i did watch a korean karaoke contest program the other day....eep, old korean music is quite scary.
