Love at the hot dog stand...amused to the 100th degree.
Hana Yori Dango S2 1! The first episode was a whooping 1 hour 48 minutes. There were way too many humorous parts to this new season so...

Love the cute opening, Love So Sweet by Arashi. The song is less schmoopy than the first (so more likable), but the visuals are super-duper-schmoopy and I can't wait to see the PV.

The episode starts off with Makino in NYC. NYC is as authentic as it gets complete with Tom Cruise, Madonna, and Brad Pitt impersonators. Of course she gets mugged by a big black man and then threatened by a gang of black men. It would have been hilarious if Doumyouji beat up the 3 large black men, but it was just as hilarious of Rui with his black shiny pointy shoes and with his shiny black fake gun threatening them with his engrish.
Everyone basically looks the same. Doumyouji's perm got a upgrade. Soujirou (Matsuda Shota) did something nice with his hair and is potentially my new obsession. I was taken in by the great NYC shots and as with the first season, the great wardrobe. Rui's white outfit and grey velvet suit are ♥. I wonder what this show's budget is.
"The Great Mister Doumeeoujee" is also ♥. Plotwise, Doumyouji is in NYC attending school and learning the family business. Makino visits him but is shunned. He clearly wants to protect her from his mother. Enter Junpei, guy who wants revenge on Domyouji, and random girl, Domyouji's mother's pick, to make their lives more difficult.
Utada Hikaru's Flavor of Life is the new insert song and it seems to be a whole lot more listenable than Planetarium was. I like Utada's voice.
Anyway, I was laughing throughout the whole episode and am glad that this season is promising to top the last one. I was thoroughly impressed by Soujirou and Akira's ability to find Makino's bag; tracking down one black dude out of the whole population of NYC..woah. ~9/10 rating~
