Batman thoughts
Had a long weekend and watched The Dark Knight Rises which was an appropriate ending to the trilogy. I might have thought more highly of it if I hadn't seen Avengers earlier this year, and if The Dark Knight hadn't been so tight. Anyway, it was a great movie and I was amused what they did to my hometown. I have more thoughts on the characters, but here's a cut for somewhat spoilery thoughts:
Bane sounded like Sean Connery and that's all I thought throughout the movie. He was not scary and did not have the whole evil charisma thing going on like he should have had when he spoke. He was only slightly less ridiculous than the 90's version
Neato Batcycle. I want one!
Anne Hathaway was a decent 'Catwoman', but Michelle Pfeiffer's version was more interesting; more sexy & crazy.
Talia Al-Ghul was a nice twist, but the seduction was unconvincing and her death was clumsy-looking.
There were too many other random characters, but yay for Torchwood actor whathisname...too bad, I can't remember what purpose he served in the movie.
Robin? eh, please no more sequels. While it is true that nobody lives in the city, it looked plain weird when all he had to evacuate was a busload of kids.
The Superman trailer...rebooting all superhero movies..fun.
