It's visually excellent; beautiful background, awesome character designs. It tries to be a little too serious at times, but the story isn't too bad. There is one annoying female lead, but I don't think she appeared too often. Like the majority of anime out there, there's no conclusion, because the anime was created before the manga/novel was finished. I think the author of the books died and someone else got permission to continue.

It's licensed, so you might want to rent it. The cardinals, pope, church people are hawt!
