Ride on Back

Photobucket
Rideback 1! the animation will surely impress anyone, but what of the cliched girl with robot story?

+ Madhouse once again shows us their top quality production (which actually looks and sounds like Mouryou no Hako's production team)
- The girls' faces sometimes resemble Olive Oil from Popeye.
- um..nothing incredibly new?
+ Fairly interested in hearing the full version of the ending song by Younha.

~Quick summary~ Ballerina falls during a performance, quits and becomes a rider of a semi-sentient motorcycle robot, a Rideback. There's some sort of gov't resistance in the background and the former ballerina talks about a changing world. I wonder what that might spell.

~Quick impression~ There's an image of a girl riding on the back of her mother at the very end. I'm guessing that that is the tone they might be using for this series? If you've never seen a girl and robot show, and want to see one, might as well start this one.

Maaya Sakamoto's Kazeyomi album is out today. I think the only album I deliberately skipped out buying was Yunagi Loop which sounded like a bland seiyuu album. This new album has a slightly different mix of producers, and generally sounds better though not as fascinating as Shonen Alice. And though Triangler was rately very highly last year, and I suppose she's supposed to be a whiny girlfriend in the song, I still cringe at her 'pitchy' chorus. The tracks, Peanuts and Colors, are nice. The new Tsubasa song is rather generic, but the old Tsubasa song has been redeemed. She must be trying something new with her voice because she never used to sing in such a high range...um. ~7/10 rating~ for the album.

Hairy chest dress

Boys Before Flowers 3! Joon-pyo's bug-phobia and his pranks are amusing. Ji-hoo is hot, but a comment on a forum makes me think that sometimes he acts like an autistic version of Yon-sama. In this episode Jan-di witnesses Ji-hoo's love for Shizuka/Seo-hyun. *spoilers* Admittedly, I was always surprised that the mangaka never brought Rui and Shizuka together, and that the omakes after the end of the original manga showed that Rui actually still liked Makino, not Shizuka. Not quite a shoujo-ish thing to do. Anyway, decent episode, but WOAH, Seo-hyun's fur-chested dress? What were they thinking?
