Movies!

Just general fangirling: Iron Man 3 was entertaining. Seems to be some hate from fans who wanted something more serious, but it was a pure fun kick-off-the-almost-summer-movie-season-type movie.

Star Trek Into Darkness...drools all over screen, <3 all the characters. This is the best fan-candy interview which doesn't feature any of the main actors:

Maybe I just watch too many similar-type movies, but both movies were fairly predictable (not that that diminishes the overall enjoyment).

Django Unchained: I guess this is the last 2012 movie I've seen. It was as fun as Inglourious Basterds, but not as refreshingly so.

Just started using Windows 8...the new start window is easy to use but their app market is pathetically sparse. Still, I'm glad I didn't need to buy new software this time.

Byebye 2012.

That's a very carefully crafted Loki figure. Look at the wrinkles and cheekbones! I'm impressed.

There were two fairytale-based tv dramas that started this week. Once Upon A Time is based on Snow White. Snow White and the Prince are cursed by the witch, and their daughter who is transported to our time is the only one who can save them. Her young son whom she gave up for adoption finds her, and brings her to the town where everyone is a fairytale character, but doesn't realize it. The witch is the Mayor and the boy's adopted mother. It is as bad as it sounds for the most part. I think it wants to be Twilight, but is very bad at it...if that is even possible.

The 2nd show is Grimm where Grimms are a line of supernatural hunters; think Buffy x Superman...cause Nick, the main character, looks like Clark Kent and his grandmother, funny enough, looks like Lex Luther. I guess one of the writers or creators also worked on Buffy, so some of the humor and production has that familiar geeky humor. The first episode is based on the Red Riding Hood story. If it retains that self-awareness and humor, it could be a fun show to watch.

There are apparently two new Snow White movies coming out, too. One with Kristen Stewart and another with Julia Roberts....what's with the Snow White revival?

Mildly horrified by L'Arc~en~Ciel's definition of acoustic in their new version of I'm So Happy.

But applause towards their fanservice/publicity stunt.

Lucky Guy by Kim Hyun Joong has some corny choreography, but it's entertaining.

Not asian pop, but those Nicki Minaj-loving British girls are adorable.

Hey, Yui's Lock On...hopefully, she doesn't mean rock on.
