Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam 2! some of the 2D animation quality went down, but storywise, it was great; some predictable events, some not. Usually, if you have two princesses, the older, responsible one will inevitably get captured or killed or put out of commission, while the younger, louder, more obnoxious one gets more screentime. Well, that's what happens. The unexpected part is that the older one opened Exile. I didn't expect that until later.

Kimi to Boku 4! Kaname (megane-character) gets sick. The boys visit. While this doesn't achieve the cuteness level that Usagi Drop easily reaches, the series is amusing.

Kimi ni Todoke S2 12! the end. This episode had some very touching scenes to wrap this show up; Kazehaya on the bike..cute faces. This series would be one of those that you would classify as an ultimate shoujo story. Boy meets girl, love triangles, boy gets girl. No matter how corny the story got, the humor and innocence suppressed your instinct to roll your eyes...most of the time. The anime was a large reason why the series is successful. The scenery was always so lovely, seiyuu spot-on and the overall production was very high quality. ~9/10 rating~ Better pacing than season 1, minus 1 for drawing Kento's head like an upside-down pear.

Arakawa's new manga, Silver Spoon, looks awesome already. Baby cow eating megane-boy's shirt. Apparently it takes place at an agricultural school in Hokkaido

Level E 12! Baka Prince's younger brother and fiancee come a knocking. There's a conspiracy. I'm going to miss this show when it ends.

Kimi ni Todoke S2 11! News of the relationship gets out. Pin makes fun of them while the other students need confirmation. Funny episode.

Level E 11! another cute episode as the baseball player from episode 1 returns. His team gets transported to another dimension along with the Baka Prince who was hiding in the team's bus.

Kimi ni Todoke S2 10! their feelings finally reach each other in this nicely made episode. Perfectly-timed sunset is standard in shoujo anime.

xxxHolic Rou Adayume OAD! Haruka hires Watanuki peer into his grandson's wet dreams. Kohane doesn't mind a threesome. It's a shame Production IG used their cheap production staff to work on xxxHolic. CLAMP's visuals suffered because of the corner cutting.

Kimi ni Todoke S2 9! Confession time. Cue the extra bubbles, sparklies, pastels, sunsets, blushes, tender music, and slow motion stills. They got the animators who get paid above average salaries to work on this episode...as opposed to the last episode where they got the monkeys to do it.

The new Doctor Who promo ad looks like a Harry Potter ad.

Level E 9! Alien sex-change shoujo-like story sponsored by Pizza Hot...Cute.

Kimi ni Todoke S2 8! A lengthy build-up to a realization. And the school festival.

Tegami Bachi: REVERSE 22! I like the little postal workers with their hats with sparkley bees.

Kimi ni Todoke S2 7! Pin wins. Even if the two main characters are very dense, it's actually funny to see the light bulbs turn on for all the supporting characters.

Tegami Bachi: REVERSE 21! The bad guys were lying. Noir finds out and turns against them. Zzz...

Ah! My Goddess ~ Together Forever OVA 1! Keiichi asks Belldandy out on a date. Her happiness infuses all the humans in the area so much so that it threatens the jobs of the whole goddess system. Yeah, it's still cavity-inducingly sweet. After all these years, Keiichi still has no idea how to talk to Belldandy. Anyway, the animation was not as pretty as I had hoped. It was just a random filler episode for manga fans. This anime reminded me of how pretty Yoko Ishida's singing is--live concert video and PV to a couple anime songs. Oh yeah, she doesn't sing the opening song to the OVA..a minus.

Chonmage Purin jmovie! A young Edo samurai slips through time into the future. He meets a single working mother of one son, and helps them out with domestic tasks while trying to figure out what to do with his life. He discovers a talent for making desserts. Pudding, cake, yum! There's a certain cheese factor to how true the samurai stays in character or as himself. That is some of its charm, too. It's a fluffy movie, and after you get past the slow start, it sorta floats nicely to the end. I think the j-idol playing the main character is popular, but eh, I forget his name.

Bartender
1! jdrama. Sasakura Ryu is introduced as someone who quit being a bartender after his sensei(?) tells him he doesn't know what it means to be a bartender...or something like that. A young woman hunts him down to make a drink for her hard-to-please grandfather. I think this is more loosely based on the manga than the anime was. It seems to be building up more drama with an angsty past and rivalry. Arashi's Aiba Masaki plays the main character, but I think he has only two facial expressions; blank and even blanker...which doesn't appeal to me.

And some anime blips.

Kimi ni Todoke S2 6! gotta love complete misunderstandings.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 7! My fascination with the background sets has waned. The only thing left are the prepubescent magical girls who feel like the world is against them, whine whine. Dropped.

Tegami Bachi: REVERSE 20! Lag needs Connor's dog, Gus, to sniff out the Cabernet gaichuu out from the underground.

Bunraku trailer - Gackt! with Woody Harrelson, Josh Harnett and Demi Moore. Guess who plays the samurai?

Good Omens tv show?

A new Last Exile series! Sadly, the only characters listed are female...so is this the fanservice version?

Kimi ni Todoke S2 5! Ryu and Kazehaya's talks are always funny and it's probably because their conversations are the more realistic. Or at least how you think real guys talk. Kent makes his move on Sawako. Is it me or is the way Kent drawn slightly demented?

Photobucket

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 6! It usually takes 6 episode for an anime story to get to a really decent plot point. In this episode after the incredibly whiny girls angst a bit, Kyubey reveals that he/she rips their souls from their bodies and puts them in the jewel, so their bodies are actually husks of flesh. This is after Madoka throws her friend's jewel away thinking it was the source of magic. I'm thinking Kyubey was modeled after CLAMP's Mokona...you know, the magical mascot character that knows everything and only reveals stuff if in a dire situation. But really, the characters in this show are probably the dumbest magical girls I've seen.
